Longest Frozen Human Embryo has been Born

KNOXVILLE, Tn. -The longest-known frozen human embryo to result in a successful birth has been born in Tennessee.

Tina and Benjamin Gibson's new baby girl, Emma Wren, was born from an embryo frozen for 24-years!

That means Tina, who is just 26-years-old, was carrying an embryo conceived just one and a half years after her own birth.

"If this embryo had been born when it was supposed to we could have been best friends -- we could have been best friends, that's been the going joke, I mean it's just so crazy," says Tina.

The lab director from the National Embryo Donation Center says seeing this record-setting embryo result in a successful birth has proven technology and advancements over the years have both improved and worked.
