Local dealers say they're focused on getting people's cars fixed right.
Co-dealer at Thompson Buick, GMC, Cadillac, Lynn Thomopson, says their number one priority is getting the recalls done.
"We want the customers' cars fixed properly," says Thompson.
Drivers with recalled cars are lining up at Thompson Buick, Cadillac, GMC every morning.
"We're getting a lot of calls from the customers," says Thompson. "And that's what we want. We want them to call us or drop by-- either one."
GM vehicles affected by the recall include several Chevrolet, Oldsmobile and Pontiac models-- some dating back to 1997.
Dealerships are having to manage an influx of repairs as a result of the recalls.
"First we have to order the parts if they need parts," says Thompson. "The final parts aren't going to get here until October or possibly November -- you're talking millions of parts."
KOLR10 has received multiple calls and Facebook posts from people saying they're frustrated by the wait. However, GM said from the beginning that it would take months.
"They're trying to do the best they can so no one else gets hurt," says Thompson.
Around 25 million cars have been recalled nationwide and dealerships across the country are hoping to get drivers back inside their own cars as soon as possible.
"All the manufacturers-- they're looking at everything on their cars to make sure everything is done 100 percent proper," says Thompson. "It's going to take a while."
According to GM, the latest recalled vehicles are connected to seven crashes, eight injuries and three fatalities.
