SPRINGFIELD, Mo.-- The National Association of Letter Carriers and food pantries across the Ozarks gather May 10 for the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.

The annual NALC Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive will be collecting non-perishable foods today in efforts to help those in need through local food pantries.

Stamp Out Hunger is the largest single-day food drive in the country. Locally, the food donated will help restock food pantries such as: The Salvation Army, Grand Oaks Mission, Crosslines, and the Victory Mission.

In 2013, the Ozark Mountain Branch of the NALC collected more than 108,000 pounds of food during the drive.

Volunteers will be sorting and collecting the non-perishable food items today from 1 pm to 6:30 pm in Springfield.
