JASPER COUNTY, Mo. -- A Kansas man died Tuesday in a single-car crash outside Joplin.
Zachary Green, 33, of Galena, Kansas, died after being ejected from a vehicle that ran off of Jung Boulevard, west of Joplin, and overturned, striking a mailbox, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.
Green was not wearing a seatbelt during the incident.
The crash occurred at about 11:42 a.m. Tuesday, totaling the 2010 Dodge Challenger involved in the crash.
Port Kenough, 27, of Neosho, Missouri, was driving the Dodge involved in the crash.
Kenough was not injured during the accident, according to the report.
The Dodge was totaled.
As required by law, Kenough was tested for alcohol. The results of the test were not included in the report.
This is the 106th fatality in Troop D for the year.
