SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - A judge is to sentence a Springfield man on November 14 after he was found guilty on three sex charges by a Greene County jury.

Lester Deandre Erby, 36, was convicted Friday of sexual assault, attempted sexual assault and deviate sexual assault in connection with a July 2013 incident in which he is alleged to have attacked a woman in the laundry room of a Springfield apartment house.

Court documents state that the woman told police Erby had offered her and her boyfriend a ride to a north-side drug store and had separated the two to take the woman to an apartment to use a phone. She said he took her instead to the apartment house and assaulted her.

After sentencing, Erby was returned to the Greene County Jail and is scheduled to appear again in court on September 22 for a pretrial conference before a October 20 trial on charges involving a second victim, according to Greene County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Nathan Chapman.
