UPDATE: Hearing Today Extends Restraining Orders on Massage Parlors

UPDATE:

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A hearing this afternoon extended the temporary restraining order issued against six Springfield massage parlors.

The six businesses are among 13 raided last week, along with 5 homes, for alleged involvement in human trafficking.

The raid in Springfield, carried out by local police, state troopers and the Missouri Attorney General's office, was part of a multi-state operation.  Other raids were conducted in Arkansas, Alabama and Louisiana.

The businesses are accused of trafficking women from Asia to work in local massage parlors as prostitutes.

Last week, the temporary restraining orders were issued for a one week period, to prevent any illegal activity from continuing to take place while the court cases are pending.  Today's hearing extended the orders.
