The workshop addressed the fears and myths associated with dementia.
The Alzheimer’s Association Greater Missouri Chapter holds the free sessions to help individuals living with the disorder and their care-givers. They hold these meetings every month.
Leaders of the workshop discussed risk factors, benefits of early detection, and hope for the future.
"Brushing your teeth, making a pot of coffee, or doing something at work,” says Rob Hulstra, outreach coordinator. “When those things begin to be a little more difficult then they have ever been before then it's time to check with the doctor. That doesn't necessarily mean they have Alzheimer’s but there is something a little off."
The sessions are open to the public, but registration is required. You can sign up by calling 417-886-2199
