Type 2 diabetes may be connected to brain degeneration. A new study in the journal Radiology suggests for every ten years a patient has diabetes, the patient's brain looks about two years older in terms of gray matter tissue.
Children and young adults who start antidepressants at high doses appear to be at greater risk for suicidal behavior than patients who are prescribed typical doses. Researchers at Harvard found the rate of suicidal behavior was about twice as high in the first 90 days for patients 24 years old and under.

And pregnant women who are induced have a 12 percent lower risk of having a cesarean delivery compared to women who take a "wait and see approach". Researchers in Britain also found the risk of fetal death and admission to the NICU were also lower in the induction group. Labor is induced in about 20 percent of all births for a number of health reasons. Researchers say the findings will help dispel the popular belief that induction increases the risk of c-sections.
