Scientists have led hundreds of trials on the health benefits of vitamin D - but the latest research says the evidence is still shaky. Previous tests have indicated vitamin D could reduce the risk of a number of diseases including multiple scleroisis, autoimmune disorders, and cancer. But two new studies in the British Medical Journal say the evidence is inconclusive and that more tests are needed.
Parents hoping to soothe a colicky baby may look to probiotics. But a new study says the treatment doesn't work. Researchers in Australia and Canada gave one group of infants probiotic and the other group a placebo. They found the probiotic did not reduce fussing and for some babies actually made it worse.
