British researchers say people who walk to work are 40 percent less likely to have diabetes than those who drive. The new study also found people who cycle or use public transportation to commute are healthier than drivers, too. Physicians say the study highlights the importance of getting exercise on a regular basis.
And which mothers choose to breastfeed may depend on their personality. Research in the Journal of Advanced Nursing found women who are outgoing are more likely to breastfeed and stick with it. But mothers who are anxious or introverted tend to use formula instead. Doctors say anxious women may feel more self conscious about breastfeeding.
