Cardinals Fans Asked to 'Bleed Red' For Local Blood Drive

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.-- Community Blood Center of the Ozarks is offering Springfield Cardinals tickets for donating blood during the ‘Bleed Red’ blood drive.

The event will be held July 21 and 22 at Springfield’s Don Thomson Donor Center at Plainview Rd. and Campbell Ave.

The drive runs from 11:10 am to 6:10 pm each day and participants are urged to sign up to give online at

Participants during the Bleed Red Blood Drive will receive two general admission tickets to a Springfield Cardinals game and a Cardinals themed event t-shirt.

Participants will also be automatically registered to win one of ten prize packages, including autographed Cardinals gear, upgraded tickets, or even the opportunity to throw out the first pitch at a Cardinals game.

Free food and drinks will also be available at the drive and Louie, the Cardinals team mascot, will make an appearance at the drive, as will the Louie Girls!

“Over 6,000 donors have taken part in the drive since its inception. That represents tens of thousands of area lives that have been impacted by this event. We’re so proud of our donors and are pleased with the tremendous commitment of the Cardinals and our sponsors. I know that this tenth edition of the drive will be another great event,” said CBCO Marketing Manager Chris Pilgrim.

CBCO’s Reser Donor Center at 2230 S. Glenstone Ave. will be closed during the event.
