SPRINGFIELD, Mo.--The American Heart Association in sponsorship with Mercy Hospitals is hosting Springfield's "Heart of Rock & Roll" Heart Ball to raise funds and awareness for its lifesaving mission.
Their mission: "to build healthier lives free of cardiovascular disease and stroke." The Heart Ball is one of Springfield's most prominent annual social galas.
The 2014 Springfield Heart Ball will be Feb. 1st at the White River Conference Center.
The Silent Auction and Reception will begin at 6 pm with Food Stations and Programs that start at 7:30 and from 9 to 11 pm the After Party will feature music by Thirst 'N Howl.
The Heart Ball benefits the American Heart Association or AHA by raising money to continue the fight against heart disease and stroke which is the nation's #1 and #4 killers of men and women.
The AHA teams up with millions of volunteers to fund innovative research, fight for stronger public health policies, and provide lifesaving tools and information to prevent and treat these diseases.
In the past five years the American Heart Association has invested more than $18.5 million in 142 research awards at six institutions in Missouri including Missouri State University.
The AHA says it is working every day to make Springfield a healthy community, improve your family's health, ensure quality health care, deliver emotional support to patients and find ways to end heart disease and stroke.
