SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Last week, Springfield's Habitat for Humanity was dealing with a theft that hit the charity organization hard. Someone had stolen a truck and trailer filled with tools needed to build and repair homes for low-income families.
The truck and trailer were eventually found. But the thieves had made off with $15,000 worth of tools.
Tuesday, Habitat announced it is setting up a fundraising effort to replace the tools needed to do construction in the Woodland Heights subdivision, where Habitat is working on revitalizaton projects.
If you would like to donate, Habitat says there are two ways:
Monetary Donations: Give online to our “The Grinch who Stole our Tools” campaign at give.habitatspringfieldmo.org or at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore (2410 S. Scenic).
Tool Donations: Please contact Brandi VanAntwerp, Development Director, for further details regarding tool donations. To maintain the quality of the home repair and home building program, HFHS reserves the right to only accept tool donations that maintain proper building standards. 417-829-4001 x 106, email@example.com.
