(St. Louis, Mo) -- It would be easy to say starts like these from Cole Hamels and Jaime Garcia were expected in Game 3 of the NLDS, a scoreless game at Busch Stadium through 5 1/2 innings.
But Garcia is making his first playoff start, coming in with no postseason resume, and not one like the 27-year old Hamels, who has six wins in the playoffs.
Both have had timely defense behind them. The Cardinals are hoping they don't have to dip in to their bullpen like they did in the Game 2 win in Philly, but Garcia looks like he can go a little deeper at this point.
I will be live at 6, 9 and 10 with highlights, postgame, and some words from former Springfield Cardinals Jon Jay, Daniel Descalso, Allen Craig and Adron Chambers.
Nine of 25 players on the Division Series roster came up through Springfield (not including rehab assignments).
