SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- An unseasonably cold air mass will drop temperatures to around freezing again early Saturday morning.

A Frost Advisory will be issued from 1-8 a.m. Saturday, April 13, for the following counties in Missouri: Bourbon, Crawford, Cherokee, Benton, Morgan, Miller, Maries, Vernon, St. Clair, Hickory, Camden, Pulaski, Phelps, Barton, Cedar, Polk, Dallas, Laclede, Texas, Dent, Japer, Dade, Greene, Webster, Wright, Newton, Lawrence, Christian, Douglas, Howell, Shannon, McDonald, Barry, Stone, Taney, Ozark, and Oregon.

The cold air that moved into southeast Kansas and the Missouri Ozarks in the wake of the strong early spring storm earlier this week is expected to remain over the region into the weekend.

Tips for Protecting Your Plants from Frost This Week

Temps will fall between 30-35 degrees in most areas, and sensitive garden and flowering plants may be adversely affected by the cold overnight temperatures.

Some cloud cover across portions of southeastern Kansas and extreme southwestern Missouri Saturday morning may allow temperatures to stay slightly warmer. However, low-lying and sheltered areas may still see patchy frost.
