Four Killed in Newton County Crash, Two From Springfield

NEWTON COUNTY, Mo.-- A motor vehicle crash takes the life of four individuals near Seneca, Mo. May 3.

The accident occurred just 2 miles North of Seneca on MO 43 Highway at approximately 2 pm May 3.

A vehicle traveling Southbound driven by Zachery R. Justice, 19, of Springfield and his passenger Daniel B. Mazzia, 24, also of Springfield crossed the center line and struck the second vehicle traveling Northbound where it then slid off of the roadway colliding with a third vehicle.

The driver of the second vehicle Tishia L. Brewer, 57, of Goodman, Mo. and her passengers Matthew D. Houston, 39, also of Goodman, and Charles E. Hubbard, 55, of Fisk, Mo. where in the vehicle when it was struck head-on.

Justice, Mazzia, Brewer, and Hubbard were all pronounced dead at the scene.

Houston was transported to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin with serious injuries.

The driver of the third vehicle was unharmed.

Justice was the only occupant wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
