Springfield, Mo. – A former foster father is found guilty of statutory sodomy involving two victims in his care.

The Greene County Circuit Clerk’s office says Mark O’Brien, 43, of Republic, is guilty of six counts of statutory sodomy and one count of child abuse.

O’Brien’s original bond was revoked and a new $1,000,000 bond was issued. He was taken into custody after the guilty verdict.

Republic police say over a 10-year period, O’Brien had been a foster parent to more than 50 children before his arrest in 2010.

O’Brien will be sentenced October 23.
