East Rutherford, NJ - On May 25, 2010, it was announced that MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey would host the first ever cold weather, open air Super Bowl. MetLife is home to both the Giants and the Jets and is one of the NFL's newest, grandest facilities.
Built at a cost of $1.6 billion, the stadium seats 82,566 spectators and has approximately 218 luxury suites.
Four large jumbotrons (located on each of the corners of the stadium) give it distinction amongst other NFL venues.
The facility was built entirely by privates funds in a joint effort by the Giants and Jets and it is run by the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority.
MetLife Stadium opened in 2010 and hosts a myriad of events ranging from pro football to blockbuster concerts.
