The Nikkei dropped 75 points today in Japan.
The Dow gained 15 points Wednesday.
The Nasdaq lost a point.

Wall Street had a quiet day Wednesday as investors monitored company earnings ahead of the Labor Day weekend.  
Stocks closed mixed

Fans of Crumbs have something to smile about.  A federal bankruptcy court approved the sale of the cupcake company to the firm behind Dippin Dots ice cream.  The new owners, who include reality TV star Marcus Lemonis, say they will create a privately held company and want to expand the chain's menu to include items other than cupcakes. Crumbs shut all its stores in July after seeing a sharp decline in sales.

Nespresso is trying to become more environmentally friendly. The Swiss coffee maker is investing $550 million over the next six years to reduce its carbon footprint.  The plan includes recycling more of its Nespresso capsules and helping farmers better manage water resources in Kenya and Ethiopia.
