The Nikkei is down 2 in trading in Tokyo today.
The Dow gained 99 points Thursday
And the Nasdaq added 45.

Investors will be watching for the government's monthly unemployment report - which comes out this morning.

The Securities and Exchange Commission has outlined new rules for high speed computer- based trading. The regulations are aimed at making markets more stable and make trading more competitive for smaller companies. This comes out of the 2010 "flash crash" that sent stocks on a wild downturn because of a computer problem. The SECc proposal will be considered in the next few months.

More dads are staying at home with the kids full-time. According to the Pew Research Center, the number of homemaker fathers has nearly doubled - to 2 million - since 1989.  That's partly because some of them are ill or unemployed. Mothers still make up 84-percent of stay at home parents.

Betting on horseracing is going mobile. TVG, which runs the Belmont Stakes, launched a free wagering for horsetracks around the world. If you download the app by June 30, you get a hundred dollar bonus. This weekend, you can bet on California Chrome - racing for the Triple Crown.
