The Nikkei is up 25 points today in Tokyo.

Fiat has completed its acquisition of Chrysler. The Italian carmaker has been running Chrysler since 2009 but didn't have full control of the company until the CEO struck a deal with a union-controlled trust fund. The deal makes Chrysler a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fiat.
Bombardier is laying off 1,700 employees and contractors in the U.S. and Canada. That includes over 500 people in the company's Learjet facility in Wichita, Kansas. Bombardier blames the layoffs on what it calls challenging market conditions for light aircraft.
A couple of Las Vegas casinos are now accepting bitcoins. Starting today, the D Las Vegas Casino Hotel and Golden Gate Hotel & Casino will begin collecting the digital currency. The bitcoin purchases will be processed through Bitpay, which allows merchants to accept bitcoins just as they would a credit card or Paypal. Bitcoins are created entirely online and are not regulated by any government. Their value also fluctuates.Still, businesses such as Overstock.com are starting to accept the virtual currency.
