The Nikkei is up 132 points today in Japan.
On Wall Street Friday, the Dow was up 59 points.
The Nasdaq added 4.

It's a big week on the economic calendar. We'll get the latest  numbers on auto sales for March, construction spending and factory orders but the highlight of the week will be Friday's monthly unemployment report.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has closed an investigation into Tesla electric car battery fires. That's after the company agreed to install more shields beneath the cars to prevent roadway debris from damaging batteries and possibly causing fires. Tesla will retrofit the model s cars with the new shields. 

BMW will invest a billion dollars in its South Carolina plant. The facility will build the X7 SEV and the X3 coupe. The German automaker first started making cars in South Carolina in 1994. Last year alone the plant produced almost 300,000 BMWs.

And the breakfast wars are heating up. Beginning today McDonald's is giving away free cups of coffee at participating locations during breakfast hours through April 13th. Last week, Taco Bell rolled out ads to promote its new breakfast menu, which includes a waffle taco.
