The Nikkei is down 8 points today
On Wall Street, the Dow was just about half a point Thursday.
The Nasdaq dropped 39 points.

This morning we will get a better picture of the overall job market. The Labor Department releases its March employment report.

Some small businesses are feeling good about the future. That's according to a recent survey by PNC Financial Services.
Out of 11-hundred small and medium sized businesses,  37 percent of owners say they're optimistic about their companies prospects over the next 6 months. That's up from 22 percent from last fall.

Mortgage rates are ticking up again. The average rate for the 30-year loan is 4.41 percent - up from 4.40 percent
Last week. The average for a 15-year mortgage increased to 3-point 47 percent from 3.42 percent.
Mortgage rates have risen almost a full percentage point since hitting record lows about a year ago.

A new mobile messaging application called Firechat was released on Android phones Thursday.
The free application allows people to communicate even when there is no cell service, or internet connection.
Firechat has a technology called wireless mesh networking. The app was released on the iPhone, two weeks ago.
