The messages were apparently sent from a local 417 exchange late Saturday Feb. 8 and early Sunday Feb 9. An Internet search of the number shows several complaints.
One viewer said the message was an alert about a frozen account attached to a debit card and gave a phone number to call back. Callers are then met with a recording that asks for personal information.
Better Business Bureau representatives say no one should give personal information over the telephone, especially if it is being solicited from an unknown number.
