WASHINGTON D.C. – Attwood Corp. has issued a recall on a kayak and watersports storage hanger due to an injury hazard.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the length adjustment buckles on the hanger release unexpectedly, causing the item being stored to fall.

Though no injuries have been reported, consumers are asked to immediately stop using the product and return it to Attwood or the store where it was purchased for a full refund or replacement.

According to the recall notice, 10,000 kayak and watersports storage hanger units were sold at Walmart, Mills Farm Fleet stores, marine dealers nationwide and online at Walmart.com from January 2014 to July 2014 for about $15.

Model number 11917-6 is located on the back of the retail package near the barcode.

Consumers can contact Attwood Corporation toll-free at (844) 808-5704 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or online at www.attwoodmarine.com.
