SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Two men being held in the U.S. Medical Center for Federal Prisoners, have been found guilty of murdering a fellow inmate at the prison.

A jury in Springfield Wednesday found Wesley Paul Coonce, Jr., 34, and Charles Michael Hall, 43, both guilty of first degree murder.  Coonce was also found guilty of murder by an inmate servicing a life sentence, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney's office for western Missouri.

Victor Castro-Rodriguez, 51, was found dead on the floor of his cell in January, 2010.

Prosecutors say the jury deliberated about an hour before reaching the verdict.

The trial goes into the penalty phase today, where the jury decides the sentences for Coonce and Hall. Under federal statutes, Coonce and Hall are subject to either the death penalty or life in federal prison without parole.
