SPRINGFIELD, Mo.-- The Springfield Victory Mission is requesting help meeting their fundraising goal to provide back to school essentials for families in need, August 3.

The Back to School bash, the largest back to school giveaway in southwest Missouri, will begin next week but according to the Springfield Victory Mission, they have not met their fundraising goal. The organization is requesting help from the community.

To date the group has raised fifty percent of the $100,000 needed to provide backpacks and school supplies to 2,500 kids from around the Ozarks.

The Victory mission will assist 2,500 boys and girls this year with a back to school gift of basic school supplies required for his/her grade level - things like pencils, pens, crayons, scissors and notebooks. Each child will also receive gently used clothing from the Victory Vintage Thrift Store, books and a $20 gift card to purchase other essential items.
