Kids from across the Ozarks were invited to the Steam Engine Grounds Friday.
Organizers say, once a year children gather here for a read-a-thon.
They take a tour back in time with activities and tours.
They even lined up for a chance to ride a steam engine, Thomas the Train and a gas tractor.
"It kind of show the kids how grandpa used to make a living on the farm,” says Charlie Stark, with Ozark Steam Engine Association.
The event was for preschoolers up to kids age 5 and doubled as a kick-off for the Steam-O-Rama event, scheduled for 4-days in September.
