FAIR GROVE, Mo. -- Graduation season is here and one Fair Grove senior will walk across the stage with a special distinction.

Zachary Compton has never missed a day of school. Ever. From kindergarten through high school.

He says he rarely got sick and even kept going to school one time when he had mono before he even knew what he had.

His principal calls Compton a tremendous inspiration to other students.

Compton told KOLR10 what inspired him to always be in class.

"When I was younger, Brett Favre was my role model,” Compton says. “And I always looked up to him, and he has the longest consecutive starts for a quarterback in NFL history. So that always inspired me to come to school every day."

Compton plans to attend OTC in the fall and then he wants to try and get into the Missouri Highway Patrol training academy to one day be a state trooper.
