Classes at Drury start Monday night and students are working on community service projects before they hit the books.
The students spent time at the Boys and Girls Club on N. Fremont drawing motivational messages on posters.
The words will greet the club's young students who spend a few hours there after school.
“I think it's important to give back to them and lead them on the path into their future,” says Cooper Smith, a Drury student. “We're making posters giving them positive messages to start out the school year."
Boys and Girls Clubs serve 35 school districts.
The children burn energy with activities, get help with their homework and then get an evening meal.
