Disaster Assistance Shops Open Across Missouri

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Two "one-stop shops for recovery assistance" are opening up in West Plains and St. Robert.

The Missouri State Emergency Management Agency is working with several agencies to provide Multi-Agency Resource Centers, according to a news release.

MARCs have trained employees who can point out resources for help with housing, public assistance, mental health counseling and insurance policies.

They'll have free child care but flood survivors need to bring proof of their address.

The Missouri Department of Public Safety is also encouraging survivors to use United Way 221 to find resources like shelters, clothing and help with clean up. You can dial 2-1-1 for the free and confidential service.

The Missouri Department of Public Safety said 15 total MARC's will be open.
