SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Temperatures will once again hover around the freezing mark tonight, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a few advisories.

A Frost Advisory will be in effect from 1-8 a.m. for the following counties in Missouri:  Bourbon, Crawford, Cherokee, Benton, Morgan, Miller, Maries, Vernon, St. Clair, Hickory, Camden, Pulaski, Phelps, Barton, Cedar, Polk, Dallas, Laclede, Texas, Dent, Jasper, Dade, Greene, Webster, Wright, Newton, Lawrence, Christian, Douglas, Howell, Shannon, McDonald, Barry, Stone, Taney, Ozark, and Oregon.

After midnight, some sheltered locations nested within the Ozark terrain could fall into the upper 20s, according to the National Weather Service. The combination of clear skies and light winds will provide an ideal environment for widespread frost. This could damage vegetation sensitive to frost development, so be sure to cover them.

Also from 1-8 a.m., a Freeze Warning will be in effect for the following counties in Arkansas: Baxter, Boone, Marion, Newton, and Searcy. The coldest temperatures in northwest Arkansas will generally be in the hours around sunrise Thursday.
