SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A new signage program from Springfield Public Works and Public Information departments starts this week giving citizens details on major projects.

According to a news statement from the City, the first signs went up on S. National Ave. Monday, where a road-widening project is underway.

Work on that project includes an addition of a southbound lane, sidewalk enhancement and utility improvements. The signs show bullet points about the project, funding sources and an estimated completion date.

The City says for more than a decade they have put up signs near future and completed projects taxes. They say that program is expanded to include many more projects.
