Former Church Music Director Indicted on Child Porn Charges

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A former church music director was indicted on child pornography charges unsealed Monday.

Craig A. Wieneke, 31, worked at a Springfield church at the time of the alleged offense. He allegedly received and distributed child pornography on the Internet from Nov. 10, 2016, to April 4, 2017, according to a news release from the Office of the U.S. Attorney.

He was charged in an indictment on June 13, 2017, which was unsealed and made public Monday.

He's now in federal custody.

Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative that fights against child sexual exploitation and abuse, brought the case.
