Six chefs from the Springfield and Branson areas put together dishes made of pork. The competition is sponsored by the National Pork Board, and is designed to inspire innovative and exciting ways to make pork.
Diane Slater, director of communications for the Missouri Pork Association, said the event is for a good cause.
"We work with the Ozarks Food Harvest. They invite their donors, and they use it as a donors appreciation event. We charge them nothing for the event and we cover all costs. It's just a great way for their donors to come together and network and talk with each other and have a great night," Slater said.
Since 1987, Taste of Elegance has grown into more than 20 regional competitions held every year.
