Cards Take Game 3 from Brewers - Game 4 Tonight

(St. Louis, Mo) -- The St. Louis Cardinals and Milwaukee Brewers playing Game 3 of the National League Championship Series Wednesday night in St. Louis.

The Cardinals had the Brewers right where they wanted them - at Busch Stadium. Milwaukee has lost 7 consecutive road postseason games. In fact the last time Milwaukee had won in the postseason on the road, 29 years ago to the night in the 1982 World Series.

Before the game, the Cardinals honored some of their Hall of Famers...Stan Musial got a big ovation from the crowd
The Cardinals had a big first inning against Brewers starter Yovani Gallardo.

John Jay shoots one out to shallow center and that's where Mark Kotsay's playing. He has trouble with it. Rafael Furcal scores and makes it 1-to-0; Cardinals.
Later in the first,...Albert Pujols sends one far to left center field. It one-hops the wall for a ground rule double. Jay scores and the Cards are up a pair.

In the same inning, David Freese doubles to right field...Matt Holliday scores...Cards up 4-0 early.
But Milwaukee would chip away off Cards starter Chris Carpenter.

It's 4-2 Cards in the 3rd when Kotsay gets some redemption. He flips the first pitch of the inning to right field for a homer off Carpenter, so now it's a one-run game.
Carpenter gets out of a jam in the 5th though. With two outs and two on for Rickie Weeks, Carp strikes him out.

Game 4 is tonight at Busch Stadium.
