Buffalo Woman Shot Dead, Man Arrested

BUFFALO, Mo. – A 56-year-old Buffalo woman is dead and the Buffalo Police Department is investigating her death as a homicide, according to news release from Buffalo Police Chief Rich Wilkinson.

Police were notified about 9 p.m. Thursday (7/6/17) of a shooting at Buffalo Inn and Suites, 1400 W. Dallas St. in Buffalo, the release states. They found the body of Wanda J. Jackson, 56, in a hotel room with an apparent gunshot wound.

After evacuating the building, officers arrested a 59-year-old man who is currently being held in the Dallas County Jail pending filing of formal charges.

Dallas County Coroner pronounced the woman dead at the scene and a homicide investigation is being conducted, Wilkinson said.
