Barn Fire Draws Multiple Fire Departments

WALNUT GROVE, Mo. -- Fire crews from around the Ozarks spent hours battling a fire, that destroyed a barn overnight.

According to officials, the call came in around 9:30 last night for a fire in the 9900 block of state Highway V in Walnut Grove.

A homeowner noticed his house lights flickering, and when he looked outside he saw his barn in flames.
Firefighters say the fire was caused by a tractor inside the barn that had a bad electric box.

The barn was full of hay--fueling the blaze, and crews say they had to just let the hay burn all the way out.

The rural location also posed a challenge in fighting the fire. Water had to be pumped from trucks from several different responding agencies.

No injuries were reported.
