Ava School District to See Staff Switch Next Year

AVA, Mo. – The Ava R-I School District will see a difference in staff at the start of the 2014-15 school year.

According to a news statement, changes three roles in the school district were triggered by the resignation of Dr. Brian Wilson, who accepted a position as superintendent at the Hollister School District.

As part of the changes, Dr. Nancy Lawler will be leaving behind her position as Ava R-I School District assistant superintendent and assume the role of superintendent. Lawler was assistant superintendent since 2002.

Mike Henry, who ahs been the middle school principal for the past two years at Ava, will set into the assistant superintendent position.

Aaron Dalton, the assistant principal at Ava High School, will then step in as the Ava Middle School principal during the upcoming school year.

Each person graduated from Ava High School, lives in the district, and has children attending school in Ava. Each say they are excited about their upcoming roles in the district.
