WEST PLAINS, MO. -- The Howell County Prosecutors Office has charged a man with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the stabbing death of a West Plains man Wednesday night.
According to a press release, Daniel T. Norton was charged by Judge Don Henry Thursday afternoon for the death of Michael K. Tyler the previous day.
On Wednesday, police were called to the scene of a stabbing, where they found Tyler bleeding from an injury to his neck.
Tyler was transported to Ozarks Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Norton is in jail under a bond of $1,000,000.
WEST PLAINS, MO. - Police in West Plains are holding a suspect this morning in connection with a fatal stabbing last night.
Jeremy Pounders, public information officer for the West Plains Police Department, said in a news release that police found Michael Tyler, 42, bleeding from an injury to the neck at 2301 E. Missouri K, #3, in West Plains about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Tyler was taken to Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, where he was pronounced dead.
A suspect was taken into custody in nearby Willow Springs. Police are seeking charges of murder and armed criminal action against the suspect from the prosecuting attorney’s office. The suspect is in the West Plains Jail pending charges.
