SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- People of all ages are participating in a month long run and swimming race.
Springfield hosted the first race of the Aquathon series Tuesday night at Doling Park.
The Aquathon Series features weekly kids and adults swim-run races Tuesday evenings throughout July at 7 p.m. at Doling Indoor Aquatics Center.
The event will then be held at Meador Pool on July 15 and 22.
The course includes 1-mile run and a 150-meter swim at Doling, with a 300-meter swim at Meador.
Participants earn points each week, based on age group placement. The top three participants in each age group are recognized following the event. Anyone age 5 to adult may participate.
