Artsfest on Walnut Street is celebrating 34 years of spring-time fun. The annual fine arts festival will take place on May 3 and 4 on Historic Walnut Street.
The Springfield Regional Arts Council festival that is managed by the Urban Districts Alliance features 130 artists representing 18 states and one international artist.
Show hours are from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday May 3 and 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday May 4.
As the largest fine arts festival in Southwest Missouri, Artsfest on Walnut Street attracts over 20,000 people to shop for original art, sample food from some of Springfield’s favorite restaurants, and enjoy dozens of performances.
Artsfest will also feature an interactive kid’s area with activities for children including Chalk-It-Up and Springfield Pottery’s Claymobile, a mobile ceramic arts workshop.
This year the festival will have over 45 new artists, and will feature a Saturday afternoon performance by popular local performing group Bella Donna on the University Plaza Stage.
In addition, the Live Art Area will return with a project featuring 12 local artists depicting short-stories on mural boards.
Tickets are $5 at the gate. Children 5 and under are free.
