2 Laclede Gas Workers Among 3 Dead in St. Louis Shooting

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Two Laclede Gas employees and a suspect were shot and killed in a St. Louis suburb Thursday.

CBS affiliate KMOV reports the shooting happened just after 11:00 a.m.  Names of the victims and the shooter have not been released. Authorities say the workers were both men, 27 and 52, and have been with Laclede Gas for five years.

Police believe the shooting is random. Police spokeswoman Schron Jackson told the Associated Press the victims were working when the suspect "walked up and started shooting at them before turning the gun on himself."

"We have no motive at this point in the investigation," police Capt. Mary Warnecke told KMOV. "It does not appear words were exchanged."

Police described the St. Louis shooter as black, and both victims as white, but there was no indication the shooting was racially motivated.
