Be a good neighbor when installing a fence

Installing a fence can be a great addition to your yard, just make sure you're a good neighbor when installing it.

If you're going to put up a fence it's a good idea to let your neighbors know ahead of time if the fence will be near their property. This will help them adjust to the idea of the structure appearing near their yard. While you're preparing your neighbors it's also a good time to clarify where your property lines are to make sure you are installing the fence on your property.

Before you begin construction on the fence, first make sure you are obeying all local restrictions around fence requirements -- including how tall it can be.
