It's the Ozarks' lifestyle program where, along with my co-host Joy Roberton, I get to speak to and interact with some of the most interesting people in the area. From firing a Civil War cannon, to riding a wave-runner (in full dress suit) on Table Rock Lake, every show brings something new and interesting.
A native of Northwest Indiana, I first came to Missouri in the early 70's to sing and dance at Six Flags in St. Louis followed by a stint at Worlds of Fun in Kansas City. After couple of years working on stage at The Waldo Astoria and Tiffany's Attic I returned to Indiana and played in a band until 1983. That is when I made the move to Springfield.
I began working at KOLR10 in 1985 as the station announcer and public service director, but soon was tapped to assume weather duties on our Midday News.
Wanting to know more of the how and why of weather, I enrolled in classes through Mississippi State University for certification in Broadcast Meteorology, parlaying this into 17 years of waking up at 2:15 a.m. to bring our viewers my forecast every Monday through Friday morning.
Now, as co-host of "Ozarks Live!" I feel as though I have grabbed the brass ring of television in the Ozarks.
My job is to have fun and hopefully bring fun to our viewers. It is my pleasure to be able to work with some of the finest people in the area doing something I really love.
Not bad for an old song-and-dance man!
