Hey there! I'm Jennifer Kielman. You can find me anchoring the 5, 6 & 10 PM newscasts on KOLR10 and the 9 PM on KOZL, alongside David Oliver.
I came to Springfield in October of 2013 from KETK News in Tyler, Texas, WVLA in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, WAOW in Wausau, Wisconsin and I interned at WTVO in Rockford, Illinois.
Although I have lived in Texas most my life, I'm actually from the Midwest. I was born in the small town of Freeport, Illinois. I also earned a degree in Broadcast Journalism and Communications from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. So, snow isn't foreign to me. I do own a pair of snow boots.
In my 10 year career in Journalism, I have distinguished myself by winning several Associated Press awards and four EMMAs from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for my anchoring, reporting and producing.
But, one of my biggest accomplishments in life, is that I'm a Breast Cancer survivor. I view my job as a journalist as a way to share important, and sometimes life-saving, information with viewers. I believe sharing my story with you, will help save a life.
When I'm not working, I love exploring the Ozarks and spending time with my husband, Coleman, our son Charlie, and our two Mini Daschunds, Lucy & Tank. And, we're having a blast!
